Driver killed at Sary-Kyr pass: He was buried today in the city of Tash-Kumyr

A 30-year-old driver who died at the Sary-Kyr pass was buried in the city of Tash-Kumyr on November 7.

This information was confirmed by the mayor of the city, Kelsinbek Bektemirov.

The farewell ceremony for E. K., born in 1995, took place in the Kyzyl-Zhar-12 area, where he spent his childhood.

According to the mayor, the deceased is survived by his wife, a 7-year-old son, and a 5-year-old daughter. He was the youngest of five children in the family, and the farewell took place at his home.

E. K. worked as a driver for a construction company involved in the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway project. On November 5, he left Kazarman heading towards Manas in a Toyota Land Cruiser after receiving permission from his superiors.

Sary-Kyr Pass



As previously reported by Turmush, on November 5, E. K. got stuck in the snow at the Sary-Kyr pass and called for help.

On November 5, rescuers, police, and local authorities with equipment were dispatched to the scene.

The next day, November 6, 28 people were involved in the rescue operations, including 16 emergency service employees, as well as six units of equipment.

According to the emergency services, a helicopter was also sent for evacuation.

Unfortunately, it was later revealed that the man froze at the Sary-Kyr pass.

It was previously reported that Colonel Ch. Shekenov, head of the emergency management department for the Jalal-Abad region, held a meeting and ordered the involvement of two heavy machines for road clearing.

It is worth noting that the Sary-Kyr pass, which connects the Toguz-Toro district with the city of Manas, is officially closed until May of next year.
