Kuwaiti media: Iran's Supreme Leader was secretly evacuated to Moscow for treatment

The evacuation operation was carried out using a Russian military aircraft.

According to information obtained from a high-ranking source close to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, he was evacuated to Moscow for treatment. This was reported by the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida. According to the source, Khamenei, who has not appeared in public since the beginning of the U.S. and Israeli military operation, was injured on the first day of the conflict — February 28, which required his hospitalization and constant medical supervision.

Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated the proposal for Khamenei's treatment in Moscow during a recent phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. That same evening, the Supreme Leader was evacuated on a Russian military plane. According to the source, upon arrival in Moscow, Khamenei underwent a "successful" operation and is currently in a specialized clinic in one of Putin's residences.

Furthermore, the source noted that Khamenei's evacuation was prompted not only by the difficulties in providing necessary medical assistance in wartime conditions but also by threats from Israel regarding the elimination of the new Iranian leader. Iranian intelligence agencies express concerns about a possible leak of information regarding the whereabouts of Ali Khamenei's son through the medical personnel involved in his treatment.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry previously confirmed the fact of Khamenei's injury but stated that his condition does not cause serious concern. Three sources from The New York Times within the Iranian government reported injuries to the new leader's legs. Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth stated that Mojtaba is "injured, disfigured, and hiding," while U.S. President Donald Trump expressed doubts about whether Khamenei is still alive.

The British publication The Sun, citing Iranian sources, claimed that the new leader may have "lost one or both legs" and is apparently in a coma.

Trump, for his part, has urged Khamenei to surrender and called him "unacceptable" to the U.S., emphasizing that he would not accept a successor to the slain ayatollah. He also claimed that he must personally participate in the appointment of the new leader, otherwise that leader "won't last long."
