Azerbaijan sent about 25 tons of humanitarian aid to Iran

The decision to provide aid became known after a phone conversation between Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian on March 8. The cargo included 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, over 4 tons of water, about 600 kilograms of tea, as well as around 2 tons of medications and medical supplies.

Earlier, on March 5, four people were injured in the suburbs of Nakhchivan as a result of drone strikes on the airport area and a nearby school. Azerbaijani authorities blamed Iran for this attack, and President Aliyev characterized the incident as a terrorist act. For its part, the Islamic Republic denies any involvement in this event.

Following the incident at the border between Azerbaijan and Iran, truck movement was suspended. Transportation is planned to resume on March 10.
