The minister noted that the letter contains points that cause serious surprise to Azerbaijan. He mentioned that the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, announced the closure of the case, which raises many questions. In response to this message, the Azerbaijani authorities provided their position, hoping for a prompt clarification of the situation, as Bayramov stated at a press conference.

At the meeting on October 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin told his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev about two reasons for the plane crash: firstly, on the day of the tragedy, air defense systems were engaged against three drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and secondly, there was a technical failure in the air defense system. Putin added that the missiles fired did not hit the plane directly but exploded nearby, possibly due to self-destruction.

On December 25, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan published a report on the AZAL plane crash, according to which no traces of explosives were found. The document states that the aircraft sustained damage from the warhead. The Embraer 190 plane, operating a flight from Baku to Grozny, crashed on December 25, 2024, near Aktau after several unsuccessful landing attempts in Grozny. There were 67 people on board, of whom 38 died.
