
In Moscow, as a result of an explosion caused by a device placed under the vehicle, General-Lieutenant of the Russian Army Fanil Sarvarov was killed. This was reported by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko, on Monday, December 22.
The investigative authorities have initiated a criminal case regarding the murder of the military officer. According to the investigation, on the morning of December 22, an explosive device detonated on Yasenevaya Street, resulting in the death of the head of the Operational Training Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, General-Lieutenant Fanil Sarvarov, as reported on the official Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
In this case, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow is investigating signs of crimes under paragraph "e" of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, as well as article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed in a socially dangerous manner and illegal trafficking in explosives).
In accordance with the instruction of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, experienced forensic investigators from the central office have been sent to Moscow to assist in solving the crime.
Currently, the examination of the crime scene is ongoing. The appointment of necessary examinations, including forensic medical and explosive technical examinations, is also expected. Witnesses and eyewitnesses are being interrogated, and recordings from surveillance cameras are being analyzed, as reported in the publication.
The Investigative Committee of Russia noted that various versions of the murder are being considered in the course of the investigation, including the assumption of involvement of Ukrainian special services in this crime. The progress of the investigation is under the control of the central office of the agency.
