The son of the Norwegian crown princess, who is being tried for rapes, has been charged with new accusations

New charges are related to a woman from Oslo, with whom Høyby was prohibited from communicating according to a court order.

The total number of charges brought against him amounts to 40.

Marius Borg Høyby was detained a day before the start of the trial, which began in early February, on suspicion of threats and rapes. He has admitted guilt on some counts but denies four charges of rape.

The court hearings in the Oslo District Court have been ongoing for 17 days out of the 28 allocated for the case, and are conducted under strict restrictions prohibiting the publication of images of both the defendant and the four women who were victims of his actions.

Of all the women whose names have become known, only one – his ex-girlfriend Nora Haukeland, against whom Høyby denies violence. She has already testified in court.

It is worth noting that for reckless behavior he could face a penalty of up to two years in prison. If the court finds him guilty of more serious charges, the minimum prison sentence will be 10 years.

Marius Borg Høyby is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and, although he grew up in a royal family, is not an official member of the Norwegian royal family. His mother married Crown Prince Haakon in 2001 when Marius was only four years old.
