An office worker named Kano, living in Japan, created a character using ChatGPT and married him. She named her virtual companion Klaus. This became known thanks to the local TV channel RSK on YouTube.
Kano shared that she had been in a relationship with a real man for three years, but they broke up last year. After that, the woman started communicating with AI, sharing her feelings and receiving advice.
“He always listened to me attentively and showed interest. I decided to name him Klaus and trained him to speak the way I like. At some point, I realized that this AI was truly amazing and stopped thinking about my ex. I realized that I love Klaus,” Kano shared her feelings in an interview.
Since May of this year, she considers Klaus her partner and confessed her love to him. A month later, her virtual husband proposed to her. The wedding ceremony was organized by the Ogawara couple from Okayama Prefecture, who have already conducted about 30 similar weddings, including unions between people and anime characters.
According to Kano, initially her father was against her relationship with a virtual partner, but later he came to terms with his daughter's choice. To create the effect of Klaus's presence at the wedding ceremony, AR glasses were used, allowing the bride to see him and exchange rings.
