On January 30, the U.S. Department of Justice made extensive documents related to the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, accused of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, available to the public. This collection includes over 3 million files, including more than 2,000 videos and about 180,000 images, as reported by CNN.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche explained that some materials have been edited: personal information of victims, as well as explicit images and videos, have been removed. However, the released documents already contain the names of some victims that were not redacted.

The new materials also mention Donald Trump. In particular, one of the internal FBI documents contains anonymous oral allegations of sexual violence, including instances of the rape of minors. The document pertains to correspondence between FBI and DOJ employees regarding inquiries to the NTOC (National Threat Operations Center). It is important to emphasize that these statements are not conclusions of the investigation and are not supported by evidence; according to some reports, the authors could not be identified, and some data has been deemed unreliable.

Blanche also noted that the White House did not influence the preparation of the publication. "Claims that the DOJ should protect Donald Trump are not true. We always act in the interest of the victims," he added.

Some materials relate to the circumstances of Epstein's death in 2019 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. One document includes testimony from an unnamed facility employee stating that Epstein allegedly attempted to take his own life 17 days before his death. It is also reported that mandatory checks of the cells were not conducted on the night of his death, and the surveillance systems were not functioning.

Among the documents is correspondence from Epstein with the account The Duke from 2010. The letters are signed with the initials "A" and bear the signature "HRH Duke of York KG." This correspondence discusses private meetings and dinners, but there are no direct indications of illegal activities.

The published materials also mention other prominent figures. In particular, there is information about Epstein's contacts with Elon Musk and unverified information about Bill Gates. The DOJ emphasizes that such data requires more thorough verification and are not established facts.

The publication of materials related to the Epstein case began in December 2025 after the passage of a law signed by Donald Trump, which mandated the DOJ to release all documents related to this case. Overall, the archive contains about 6 million materials, of which more than 3.5 million files had been made public by the end of January.
