As reported by American media, the published documents do not contain radically new information about Epstein's connections with high-profile figures from the worlds of politics and business. Mentions of Donald Trump are quite rare in the archives.

Jeffrey Epstein found himself at the center of a scandal involving human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of minors. Investigators claimed that he received sexual services from underage girls and provided them to influential figures. Epstein was first convicted in 2008 for running a prostitution ring, after which he spent 13 months in prison due to a plea deal. In July 2019, he was arrested again on charges of human trafficking, but shortly after his arrest, he took his own life in a jail cell in New York.
