According to the investigation materials, in January 2025, O.H. left for Russia in search of work. Initially, he got a job in one of the workshops at Vnukovo Airport, but soon faced difficulties obtaining the necessary documents and was notified of the intention to deport him for violating the law. Nevertheless, the migrant, experiencing financial difficulties, decided to continue working despite the risk of being expelled from the country.

In April, a friend offered him another position at Domodedovo Airport. However, on his way to Istra in the Moscow region, he was detained by the police. In the station, the accused claims he was forced to sign some document.

Most likely, it was a contract with the Ministry of Defense. Three days after his detention, he was sent to a training ground, where he received military uniform, a phone, and bank cards, and underwent training.

He was later sent to Luhansk along with other servicemen. On May 8, their group was attacked by a drone.

“My comrades died, but I managed to survive. However, my leg was injured from the drone explosion,” O.H. told investigators.

After that, he was sent to the hospital, and after recovering, he returned to Moscow and flew back to his homeland.

O.H. admitted his guilt, expressed remorse for his actions, and asked the court to impose a sentence not related to imprisonment.

The court found him guilty under part 1 of Article 154 (“Mercenarism”) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. According to the ruling, based on Article 57 (“Imposition of a more lenient punishment”), he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a general regime colony.
