The judge sentenced Aibar Zhanbolat to 14 years in prison, having found him guilty of the crime stipulated in part 1 of Article 99 of the Criminal Code.
According to the verdict, “Aibar Zhanbolat is found guilty of committing the crime and sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment in a medium-security facility. The civil claim of the victim Jumanova is partially satisfied: 20 million tenge is to be awarded as compensation for moral damage and 1 million 700 thousand tenge for legal expenses,” the judge noted.
Recall that the tragedy occurred in the village of Balasaz, located in the Aksu district of the Zhetysu region, where the death of 32-year-old Aizat Jumanova was investigated. The suspect was her husband – Aibar Zhanbolat.
According to relatives, a conflict occurred between the spouses, during which the man began to beat Jumanova in front of their two-year-old daughter. A medical examination confirmed the presence of a closed traumatic brain injury, contusion and edema of the brain, a fracture of the base of the skull, as well as multiple fractures of the limbs and pelvis, and traces of dragging on a rough surface. Relatives believe that the woman was tied to a horse saddle and dragged across the field.
Aizat was taken to the Taldykorgan hospital on the night of June 22, 2025, but doctors pronounced her dead half an hour later. Relatives are convinced that the woman died before arriving at the medical facility and that signs of violence were concealed: her body was washed and changed.
Aibar Zhanbolat claimed that Aizat allegedly fell out of the window while trying to take a selfie, but the woman's relatives refuted this version.
Initially, the police began an investigation under Article 106, part 3 of the Criminal Code “Intentional infliction of serious harm to health resulting in death through negligence.” Later, the actions of the suspect were reclassified under part 1 of Article 99 “Murder.”
