The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry noted that as a result of the incident, airport infrastructure was damaged and two people were injured. There are also reports of another Iranian drone falling near a school in the village of Shekerabad. In connection with the incident, the ministry summoned the Iranian ambassador Mojtaba Demirchilu for clarification.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry demanded that the Iranian side clarify the situation as soon as possible, provide necessary explanations, and take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The ministry emphasized that the incident contradicts international law and may exacerbate tensions in the region. Azerbaijan also reserves the right to take retaliatory actions.
