
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, expressed his disagreement with the incident that occurred in Nakhchivan when drones fell on the territory of the airport. This information was provided by his press secretary, Aibek Smadiyarov.
The head of state categorically condemned the incident, describing it as an act of aggression against Azerbaijan, which is a brotherly and allied state for Kazakhstan.
Tokayev also emphasized the need to conduct a joint and thorough investigation of the incident involving Iran. He highlighted the importance of a peaceful resolution of the situation that has arisen to avoid further escalation of tensions in the region.
It was previously reported that drones, allegedly launched from Iranian territory, fell on the airport area in Nakhchivan, damaging its building and causing harm to several civilians.
In response to the accusations, Tehran denied its involvement in launching drones towards Azerbaijan. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran stated that such incidents could be initiated by Israel with the aim of worsening relations between Muslim states.
