As a result of the drone attack, one of the fuel tanks located near Dubai International Airport (DXB) caught fire. Civil defense forces were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames.
An official statement said: “Due to the drone incident, a fire occurred in one of the fuel tanks near Dubai International Airport. Civil defense teams are actively working to contain it.”
There is no information from authorities regarding any casualties.
The fire was contained around 05:10 local time. Subsequently, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority decided to temporarily halt flights at the airport for the safety of passengers and staff.
