Mongolia and Kazakhstan signed export agreements worth over $60 million

“During a business mission in Ulaanbaatar, Kazakh companies signed export agreements totaling $62.6 million with Mongolian partners, marking another step towards strengthening trade relations between the two countries,” reports MiddleAsianNews.

The Kazakh delegation was headed by Aizhan Bizhanova, the First Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration. She noted that Mongolia represents a promising direction for Kazakhstan's non-resource exports.

“We see Mongolia as a promising direction for increasing non-resource exports. A significant share of finished products in our supplies and interest from businesses confirm that this market is no longer experimental, but stable and developing,” added Bizhanova.

By 2025, bilateral trade between Mongolia and Kazakhstan had tripled, with over 90% of exports consisting of finished non-resource goods, including food products and industrial goods.

The growing role of Kazakhstan as a transit hub is expected to deepen cooperation. The country offers Mongolia alternative routes for export, which will reduce delivery times and expand access to the markets of the EAEU, the Caucasus, Turkey, and the EU.

This business mission took place against the backdrop of the upcoming visit of Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhna to Kazakhstan, which adds additional political significance to the agreements reached.
