Kazakhstan has sent a trade mission to Mongolia, the first in seven years

Kazakhstan is re-entering the Mongolian market by sending its first trade mission in seven years, as reported by MiddleAsianNews citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

On March 18, a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Aizhan Adilovna Bizhanova visited the "Talyin Mongolia" plant, which has a processing capacity of 100 tons of products per day.

During the visit, Kazakhstan offered support in the area of export cooperation and improving the business climate, as well as outlined paths for deepening foreign economic interaction. This includes creating the foundations for long-term partnerships aimed at expanding market opportunities and sustainable growth.

The "Talyin Mongolia" plant actively exports its products to Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, strengthening its position on the international stage.

The plant, which uses fully automated technologies, is capable of processing 100 tons of products per day, significantly reducing the need for manual labor. A robotic accounting system has also been implemented, eliminating duplication and errors in calculations, ensuring more organized and accurate financial reporting.

The trade mission is taking place in Ulaanbaatar and is organized jointly by the Ministry of Trade and Integration and the national company QazTrade. The delegation includes representatives of Kazakhstani companies operating in various sectors: from agribusiness to pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.

QazTrade conducted a market analysis and identified promising areas for cooperation. The Kazakh delegation includes producers of food products, building materials, and medical equipment.

According to the ministry, "initially, the Mongolian market may seem small, but such markets become a priority for Kazakhstan. Logistics are well-developed, and Kazakhstan can meet Mongolia's basic needs in food, construction, fuel, and machine engineering."

By the end of 2025, it is expected that trade turnover between the two countries will exceed $133 million, with Kazakhstan's exports accounting for $123 million. According to QazTrade's estimates, trade volume could increase nearly fourfold, potentially reaching $500 million.

About 90% of Kazakhstan's exports to Mongolia consist of finished products: flour, grain, oils, confectionery, and beverages, as well as building materials, metals, and fuel. There is also stable demand for mining equipment, chemical products, and packaging.

"Kazakhstan has strong advantages in grain processing and exports. A record harvest of 27.1 million tons was recorded in 2025," the ministry added.

Mongolia, in turn, has a developed livestock sector, which creates a basis for mutually beneficial cooperation—from raw material supplies to joint processing and access to third markets," concluded the ministry of Kazakhstan.
