Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan argued with a woman in the metro over Karabakh

The conflict began when a woman reproached Pashinyan for the loss of Karabakh. In response, the Prime Minister stated that his team had spent enormous resources to save the lives of Armenians in Karabakh and asked why she herself did not stay there. He reminded the woman that in 2023 she had accused him of closing the borders, which forced people to leave Karabakh, and now, according to her, she wanted to return. News.am.

The woman asked the Prime Minister to speak more quietly and not to threaten her, to which Pashinyan replied that he did not intend to hold back and did not wish to take the blame for what had happened. He also expressed dissatisfaction with how she spoke about the map of Armenia that he was holding.

After some time, the Prime Minister apologized to the passenger. In his Telegram channel, he posted a video in which he noted that he could not contain his emotions when it comes to Karabakh and called it his flaw. He expressed regret and invited the woman to a new meeting to discuss everything calmly.

When Pashinyan learned that the passenger's name was Armine Mosiayan, he addressed her by name and expressed hope for the possibility of further communication in a calmer setting. He added that he would understand if she declined the offer but would be glad to discuss everything privately if she decided to do so.

Let us remind you that Armenia lost control over Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's military operation in September 2023. More than 100,000 Armenians were forced to leave the region, and the unrecognized republic ceased to exist as of January 1, 2024. Currently, the parties are coordinating the text of a peace treaty; however, Azerbaijan is making demands for amendments to the Armenian constitution before its signing.
