The visit will take place in Beijing, where Trump will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, as confirmed by Livitt.

Additionally, the press secretary added that in response to this visit, Melania Trump and Donald Trump will also host Xi and his wife Peng in Washington later this year, with the date to be announced later.

Trump himself later confirmed on his social media account Truth Social that the meeting with Xi Jinping will take place on May 14 and 15 in Beijing.

He noted that the visit was initially postponed due to the military operation in Iran, but now the date has been set. "My meeting with esteemed Xi Jinping has been rescheduled and will take place in Beijing on May 14 and 15. Melania and I will also host Chairman Xi and Madam Peng in Washington later," Trump wrote.

It was previously planned that Trump's trip to China would take place at the end of March or the beginning of April, but it was postponed due to the complicated situation in Iran.

The president also mentioned that the visit was postponed by about a month.
