During his first visit, Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan were greeted by then Prime Minister Altanguyag Norov at Buyant-Ukhaa International Airport.

The President of Mongolia Elbegdorj Tsakhia noted: “This is a historic visit that confirms the level of friendly relations and cooperation between our countries, as well as lays the foundation for their further expansion and future determination.” In 2024, Mongolia and China will celebrate several important diplomatic events, including the 75th anniversary of the establishment of relations and the 30th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, which will serve as an additional incentive for high-level exchanges.
