At the opening ceremony, a symbolic cover was removed from the new modern building, designed in a unique architectural style.
In honor of this important event, as well as the visit of the presidents, the national anthems of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were performed.
After the official opening, the flag of Tajikistan was raised over the building, after which the presidents familiarized themselves with the territory of the embassy. During the visit, they left entries with good wishes in the Book of Honorary Guests, expressing their intention to continue strengthening friendly and good-neighborly relations between the two countries.
Diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were established on October 22, 1992. Currently, the Embassy of Uzbekistan operates in Dushanbe, and the new building of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Dushanbe was opened on April 19, 2024, during the visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
