
On March 1, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held telephone negotiations with colleagues from the Middle East, during which he discussed the current situation in the region and conveyed words of support from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to information from the minister's Telegram channel, among the interlocutors were:
- the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani;
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrakh Al-Sabah;
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi;
- the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Ayman Safadi;
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani;
- the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the discussions, the necessity of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity was emphasized, as well as the importance of resolving all issues peacefully, in accordance with international law, to ensure stability in the region.
In addition, Bakhtiyor Saidov had a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. They agreed on key issues concerning the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity, and emphasized the importance of adhering to international law norms and resolving all conflicts through dialogue.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed serious concern over the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Middle East, caused by the attacks of the USA and Israel on Iran and Iran's retaliatory actions against neighboring countries.
“We call on all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from actions that could lead to the escalation of the conflict with unpredictable consequences, both militarily and humanitarian,” the Ministry's statement noted.
Uzbekistan consistently advocates for strengthening regional stability and security and hopes for a swift normalization of the situation, as stated in the official statement.
