President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded the "Jasorat" (Courage) medal to Khairullo Ibadullaev, who displayed heroism by saving a child who fell from a window in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the president's press secretary Sherzod Asadov, and the decree was also published on the official website of the head of state.
Ibadullaev, risking his life, demonstrated courage and selflessness, emphasized the president's representative. He noted that the act of the Uzbek man became an example of bravery characteristic of the people of the country.
The incident occurred on February 22 in St. Petersburg when a six-year-old boy fell from the seventh floor of a residential building. The janitor, who was on the scene, managed to catch him, providing first aid before handing the child over to the concierge until medical personnel arrived. As a result of the fall, the man likely sustained rib fractures, while the boy was diagnosed with a broken leg. The child's mother was in another room of the apartment at the time of the incident.
Khairullo Ibadullaev arrived in St. Petersburg only four months ago in search of work. In Uzbekistan, he has four children and sick parents, reports Gazeta.uz.
