Leaders of Central Asian countries congratulate Muslims on the beginning of the month of Orozo

With the beginning of Orozo, which started on February 19, 2026, the presidents of Central Asian countries expressed their congratulations, emphasizing the spiritual significance of this time and the importance of kindness, charity, and unity.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, congratulated the people on the beginning of Ramadan, describing it as a symbol of goodness and generosity of spirit. He highlighted that during these sacred days, Uzbeks welcome the month of fasting in an atmosphere of harmony and peace. The head of state also noted the efforts for improvement, including assistance to those in need and support for the elderly, which contribute to strengthening interethnic harmony and religious tolerance in the country.

Mirziyoyev also mentioned the reforms of recent years aimed at protecting human rights and social justice, emphasizing the significance of mahalla as the foundation of society. Charitable events and the opening of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, as well as the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand, are planned during Ramadan. The president expressed hope for the cessation of conflicts and the strengthening of peace and cooperation at the global level.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, noted in his congratulations that the holy month is a period of spiritual purification and moral growth, as well as a time for showing mercy to those around us. He emphasized that Oroza develops resilience, patience, modesty, and responsibility, and these spiritual values resonate with the principles of the rule of law, justice, and patriotism, which play a key role in the development of the country.

The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, congratulated citizens on the onset of Ramadan, wishing them well-being and peace. He noted that the essence of fasting lies not only in abstaining from food and drink but also in purifying the soul, self-control, and performing good deeds. Rahmon called for attention to be paid to helping those in need and supporting parents, and he also highlighted the importance of food security in the country amid global challenges.

Serdar Berdymukhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan, congratulated citizens on the holy month of Orozo, emphasizing that this period symbolizes kindness and charity. He noted that the Turkmen people, following the principles of friendship and virtue, traditionally honor the spiritual values of Islam, observing fasting and performing prayers in the family circle.
