As a result of recent attacks by Israel and the USA on Iran, as well as Tehran's retaliatory actions against American facilities in the Persian Gulf, many airlines have decided to suspend their flights to this region, as reported by Kazinform citing data from the BBC.
Lufthansa announced the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, Beirut, and Oman until March 7, and also temporarily canceled flights to Dubai for this weekend. In addition, Lufthansa will avoid the airspace of Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Iran until the specified date.
Air France has suspended flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut, while KLM has also canceled its flights to Tel Aviv. The alliance previously announced the cancellation of all flights to Israel starting Sunday, March 1, but in light of current events, it also canceled flights scheduled for Saturday.
British Airways has temporarily halted flights to Tel Aviv and Bahrain until March 3.
WizzAir has also suspended flights to Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Amman until March 7.
Turkish Airlines has temporarily suspended flights to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan until March 2, and also canceled Saturday flights to Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, and Oman.
Qatar Airways has also suspended its flights from Doha due to the closure of the country's airspace.
Virgin Atlantic canceled a flight from London to Dubai scheduled for Saturday.
Japan Airlines also canceled a Saturday flight to Doha.
Swiss Air has suspended flights to Tel Aviv until March 7, and to Dubai for this weekend.
Iberia Express has also canceled a flight to Tel Aviv scheduled for Saturday.
Air India has ceased flights to all airports in the Middle East, including Tel Aviv, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Earlier, Kazakhstan imposed a complete ban on flights over and near the airspace of Iran, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon due to the escalation of the situation in the region.
