
During the ceremony dedicated to the symbolic launch of projects, the presidents discussed several key initiatives. Among them are the establishment of furniture and leather goods manufacturing enterprises, the expansion of household appliance production, the construction of textile factories in Tajikistan, as well as the erection of residential complexes and commercial areas in Tashkent. It is also planned to organize canned food production in the Fergana region.
Additionally, projects for the production of dairy products in the Andijan region, as well as fruit juices and metal briquettes in the Surkhandarya region, have been launched.
At the conclusion of the event, the leaders of the countries signed a joint statement aimed at deepening strategic partnership and allied relations. A package of documents was also formalized at the level of ministries and departments to further strengthen multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The signed documents cover important areas of interaction, such as increasing trade volumes, developing industrial cooperation, implementing electronic product certification systems, and utilizing the "E-Permit" platform. Issues of joint work in healthcare, science, and radio frequency management in border areas were discussed.
The parties also approved several programs, plans, and "roadmaps" for 2026–2028 concerning various aspects, including industry, innovation, mining, tourism, the agro-industrial complex, and cultural exchanges. In addition, memorandums of cooperation were signed in the fields of innovation, public service, finance, education, and the enforcement of judicial decisions.
The event also featured a ceremonial occasion during which one of the streets of New Tashkent was named after the capital of Tajikistan — Dushanbe.
Economic relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have been strengthening in recent years. In particular, in 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $718.3 million, which is 22.5% higher than the figure for 2024.
