Rahmon reminded that during the difficult years of the civil war in the early 1990s, it was realized how important it was to create a capable army.
Despite financial difficulties, the National Army was formed, and on February 23, 1993, the first military parade took place.
According to the president, the Armed Forces of Tajikistan were formed under challenging conditions, accumulating combat experience and developing professionalism. The army, interacting with other law enforcement agencies, has repeatedly demonstrated loyalty to the oath and courage in ensuring the security of the state and protecting the people.
Emomali Rahmon expressed gratitude to military personnel and law enforcement officers for their dedication to the cause.
He noted that the people and the state will never forget the heroism of those who gave their lives for the restoration of law and order, and for the protection of the homeland's borders.
The head of state also pointed to the difficult situation in the world and the region, as well as the growing threats related to terrorism, extremism, and cybercrime.
In this regard, he emphasized the importance of further strengthening the country's defense capability, enhancing the level of training for personnel, and mastering modern technologies for military personnel.
In conclusion of his speech, the president expressed confidence that the personnel of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan will continue to carry out their sacred mission with honor, ensuring security and stability in the country, and wished all military personnel and veterans health, prosperity, and resilience.
