
In his message, Rahmon expressed confidence that under the leadership of the new leader, the Iranian people will be able to overcome all the current challenges facing the country, which is considered friendly and brotherly to Tajikistan. "We appreciate the constructive participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in strengthening peace and stability both in the region and in the world. We reaffirm our commitment to the fundamental principles of international law in interstate relations," the congratulatory message emphasizes.
Furthermore, Rahmon noted Tajikistan's readiness for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran, based on trust and respect.
The new Supreme Leader of Iran, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, was elected by the country's Assembly of Experts on March 9. He became the third leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and was characterized as "a well-educated theologian, a young thinker with deep knowledge of political and social issues."
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) pledged allegiance to the new leader and expressed its readiness to follow his directives.
With the formation of the new leadership, the temporary council established after the death of Ali Khamenei ceased its activities, as reported by the official representative of the Guardian Council of Iran, Hadi Tahan Nazif. The temporary council consisted of the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, the head of the judiciary, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, and a member of the Guardian Council, Alireza Arafi.
It should be noted that the previous Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, died as a result of a joint operation by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic on the first day of its execution.
