According to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior of Magdeburg, the young man, originally from Central Asia, intended to carry out an attack on people using a vehicle, which authorities believe may be linked to "Islamist motivation." For security reasons, details about his plans are not being disclosed to avoid jeopardizing the deportation process.

It is worth recalling that on December 20, 2024, a tragic event occurred in Magdeburg when an assailant named Taleb A. drove a car into a crowd at the Christmas market. As a result of the incident, six people died, including a nine-year-old boy, and more than 200 were injured.
