The companion of the victim was hospitalized
A tragedy occurred in Malta: a 48-year-old woman from Kyrgyzstan drowned in St. George's Bay, according to local news sources.
According to their reports, an incident occurred in the water involving two women, and passersby witnessed it and helped them get to shore.
Medical personnel and rescuers arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. Both women were taken to a medical facility, but one of them did not survive. The second, a 23-year-old girl, is currently in stable condition.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
