Law enforcement officers, together with representatives of the local administration, emphasized the importance of adhering to basic cybersecurity rules. In particular, they strongly recommend not sharing personal data, bank card details, PIN codes, passwords, and SMS confirmation codes with third parties. Residents are also advised to refrain from clicking on suspicious links, especially those received through messengers like WhatsApp, and not to enter personal data on such resources.
Special attention was given to so-called "droppers" — individuals who transfer their bank cards, accounts, or personal data for use by others. The police noted that such actions are punishable by law and carry serious consequences.
Additionally, citizens were advised to avoid answering video and audio calls from unknown numbers in messengers, including WhatsApp, and not to trust messages that may contain requests for "account verification" or "code confirmation."
The police emphasize that refusing to communicate with unknown individuals and following simple digital security rules can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of fraud.
