Tashmatov is under suspicion under Article 336, Part 1 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He has been placed in pre-trial detention in SIZO-1 until April 15.
A video previously appeared on social media in Kyrgyzstan, showing photographs of athletes, employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), businessmen, and police officers. The author of the video links them to the so-called "40 choro," mentioning the former head of the GKNB in Bishkek, Eldar Jakypbekov, among whom was Tashmatov.

Another video featuring Tashmatov also appeared on the WhatsApp messenger, in which he praises the now-deceased "thief in law" Kamchy Kolbaev, who was eliminated by the GKNB in October 2023.
