The subject of the case, B.B.I., is now in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department, where he will remain until April 15. He has been charged under Article 336, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning corruption.
Changes in the personnel of the GKNB began after the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev, who previously headed the agency. As a result, several department heads were dismissed, including Eldar Jakypbekov, who briefly held the position of head of the GKNB for Bishkek, having previously overseen the department in the Chui region.
In addition, an interdepartmental investigative group was formed, which included investigators from the Military Prosecutor's Office, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs provides operational support. As part of the investigation into the corruption case under Article 336, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, arrests were made of Jakypbekov and an employee of the 6th department of the GKNB, D.S., known by the nickname "Pito".
Shortly thereafter, the press service confirmed the dismissal of the mentioned employees, who are suspected of abusing their official powers during their service.
