Three police officers dismissed in connection with former head of the GKNB in Bishkek

Today, February 16, three high-ranking police officials were dismissed. All of them were connected to Eldar Zhakypbekov, the former head of the State National Security Committee (GKNB) for Bishkek, as reported by the press service of the law enforcement agencies.

Among those dismissed was Rufat Abdurazakoff, who held the position of head of personnel at the Main Internal Affairs Directorate (GUVD) of the Chui region and is the husband of Zhakypbekov's sister.

Also removed from his position was Chyngyz Tokoldoshev, the head of the Internal Affairs Department (OVD) of Balykchy, who was a close friend of the former head of the GKNB.

The deputy head of the Pervomaisky District Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek for operational work, Aizatbek Uchbaev, who also had close ties with Zhakypbekov, lost his position as well.

On February 10, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree relieving Kamchybek Tashiev of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the GKNB.

He was replaced by Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov as the acting chairman of the GKNB.

Three deputy chairmen of the GKNB were also dismissed.

On February 14, there was a change in leadership at the Main Directorate of the GKNB for Bishkek: Eldar Zhakypbekov was replaced by Ulan Biibosunov. The next day, on February 15, Zhakypbekov was detained.

On February 16, Salmoor Jumabekov was removed from his position as head of the GKNB for Osh and the Osh region.
