On January 27, 2024, at the age of 54, Colonel of the reserve Serik Kekенович Abiev passed away unexpectedly. This sad news was announced by the press service of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Serik Abiev was born in 1972 and successfully graduated from the Kyrgyz State National University named after J. Balasagyn in 1995, receiving a degree in "Law".
His service in the national security agencies of the country began in November 1995, and throughout his career, he held several significant positions:
- from 1995 to 2001, he worked in the Investigative Department of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- from 2001 to 2003, he was in the Department of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Naryn region;
- from 2003 to 2006, he served again in the Investigative Department of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- from 2012 to 2014, he held the position of assistant to the Chairman of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- from 2014 to 2017, he worked in the Anti-Terrorism Center of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- from 2017 to 2022, he was in the Main Investigative Department of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- from 2022 to 2024, he served in the Academy of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- from 2024 to 2025, he held the post of Deputy Head of the Special Operations Department of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
For his service, Serik Abiev received numerous awards and commendations, including a Certificate of Honor presented on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for significant achievements in fulfilling his duties.
Colleagues and comrades will remember him as a worthy leader and a true officer who demonstrated principle and responsibility, as well as a high sense of duty. He raised more than one generation of national security personnel, always emphasizing the importance of honesty, fairness, and respect for traditions, as well as the significance of serving his homeland.
The State National Security Committee noted that he was a kind and responsive person, a loyal friend, and a reliable comrade. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.
