Kurmanbek Kanibek uulu, an investigator in the control and methodological department of the investigative department of the main internal affairs directorate of the city of Osh, shared his experience working in law enforcement and talked about his life path.

He was born on November 13, 1989, in the village of Kalinin, located in the Joosh Kara-Suu district of the Osh region. Being the eldest of three children, he also has a brother and a sister. In his family, he raises three sons and is a married man.
As Kurmanbek noted, the fight against crime requires significant effort and is often accompanied by human casualties.

### The First Spark of Justice

His career story began in his native village, where Kurmanbek faced injustice both in school and in society. These experiences became the catalyst for his professional path.
“The society I grew up in and the situations at school, where my efforts were not appreciated, pushed me to decide to become part of law enforcement. In labor classes, the teacher often refused to accept my work, suggesting I bring something else. I wondered why what I had done could not be appreciated. My parents advised me not to argue with the teacher, and this caused an internal protest within me,” he shares.

### The Path to Independence

In 2003, after finishing the eighth grade, Kurmanbek decided to study at a military lyceum in Bishkek, which was a significant step for him as it was the first time he left his homeland and parents.
“In the lyceum, I faced strict discipline and the necessity to rely solely on myself. The first days were memorable for their early wake-ups and strict demands. The entire learning process turned out to be a real school of life for me,” he recounts.

### Academic Achievements and Career

In 2007, after successfully completing his studies at the military lyceum, Kurmanbek enrolled in the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy named after Ergash Aliyev, where he continued to pursue his dream. “It was quite easy to enroll since I already had military training experience. My studies at the academy went by in a flash, and I graduated in 2012,” he says.

### Beginning of Career in Bishkek

As an investigator at the Sverdlovsk District Department of Internal Affairs in Bishkek, Kurmanbek faced a high level of crime. “The work was challenging; we often had to work until dawn. I worked in this area for three years, until the end of 2014,” he recalls.

### Moving to Osh

At the end of 2014, Kurmanbek moved to Osh due to family circumstances and became an investigator at the Sulayman-Too police station. “The work here was less intense, and I was trusted to investigate serious cases,” he notes.

### Important Calls

In 2015, his career took a new turn when Kurmanbek received an offer to move to the main investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “The call came from the head of the investigative department for the southern region, and I was surprised to receive such an offer. It became a new challenge for me,” he recounts.

### Investigating Crimes

While in the main investigative department, Kurmanbek solved a major robbery committed by a group of criminals. “Four men were detained after they robbed a currency dealer. I conducted the interrogation and found out that they used a car, in which a bullet was later found — an important piece of evidence that helped close the case,” he explains.

### New Challenges

After staff reductions in the main investigative department, Kurmanbek remained unemployed for some time but soon joined the control and methodological department. “I helped young investigators and reviewed complaints about their actions,” he says.

After moving abroad for work, where he stayed for five years, Kurmanbek returned to his homeland. At the end of 2024, he rejoined the service and became a district police officer.

### Preventing a Robbery

While working at the Sulayman-Too police, he managed to prevent a robbery of a butcher who was engaged in wholesale meat sales. “A group of criminals from Bishkek planned the robbery, but thanks to the swift actions of the police, we were able to prevent the crime,” Kurmanbek concludes.
