Life in the Regions: Ulakchi Ishenbek Uulu Erbolot Dreams of the World Nomad Games and a Trip to Mecca

Erbolot Ishenbek uulu began his horseback riding lessons at the age of 3-4 and today is achieving significant success in the game of ulak.

He was born in 2005 in the village of Kuiruchuk, located in the Jumgal district of the Naryn region. He currently resides in his native village and works as a driver at the Kara-Keche coal mine. After finishing high school, he received his education at vocational college No. 5 in Bishkek.

In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, Erbolot shared that his older brothers are also passionate about the game of ulak, which inspired him from childhood. He watched their games and drew motivation from the performances of famous ulakchy, such as Rustam Tynaliev and Manas Niyazov. From the age of 10-11, he began actively participating in ulak competitions.

“I learned by carefully observing the games of my brothers and experienced players, trained a lot, and gained experience,” he says.

Among his achievements is participation in numerous events where he made many new friends and met wonderful people while playing for strong teams.

One of his most vivid memories was participating in a game with his brothers, where he was able to make a significant contribution to his team's success, receiving praise from everyone. This event will forever remain in his memory.

He also notes that at tournaments they won cash prizes, and in 2021 at competitions in Naryn, their team received a car and many other awards,” adds Erbolot.

In his free time, he trains horses, preparing them for ulak games, and also dedicates time to sports.

“My main goal for the future is to take my parents to Mecca and become part of the Kyrgyzstan national team to participate in the World Nomad Games. I am ready to work hard and make every effort to achieve these goals,” he concludes.
