“I built a business for 30 years, and it was destroyed in less than 3 years”
Sharshembek Abdykerimov, the founder of the 'AYU' holding, made serious accusations against Eldar Zhakypbekov, the former head of the GKNB in Bishkek. The entrepreneur expressed his position on social media.
Abdykerimov claims that Zhakypbekov's actions led to the destruction of his long-standing business, which, according to him, contributed significantly to the state budget. He also noted that during the events that took place, his health suffered greatly: the businessman underwent five surgeries and a stroke, and now he has heart problems.
“When you are on the brink of life and death, your perception changes. I built a business for 30 years, provided jobs for thousands of people, and all of this was destroyed in less than three years,” he shared his experiences.
It is worth noting that in September of last year, a criminal case was initiated against Abdykerimov on charges of “financing an organized crime group.” As a result, his property worth 10 billion soms was confiscated. After October 2020, the entrepreneur left Kyrgyzstan and is currently wanted internationally.
Eldar Zhakypbekov, the former head of the GKNB in Bishkek, was dismissed from his position in February 2026 and arrested on suspicion of corruption. The case is under the jurisdiction of the Military Prosecutor's Office.
