However, the changes were not limited to appointments. By the order of President Sadyr Japarov, an interdepartmental investigative group was created, which initiated a criminal case under Article 336, Part 1 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan. The investigation is being conducted by the Military Prosecutor's Office and the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with operational support provided by the Main Directorate for the Fight Against Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
This was followed by a wave of detentions and arrests affecting not only GKNB employees but also representatives of other structures.

- On February 10, Tashiev was relieved of his position;
- On the same day, information emerged about the detention of GKNB employees, including the head of the GKNB in Bishkek, Eldar Jakypbekov. However, the GKNB denied this information;
On December 3, 2025, Eldar Jakypbekov was appointed as the head of the GKNB in Bishkek, having previously headed the GKNB in the Chui region.

- On February 13, Jakypbekov was removed from the position of head of the capital's GKNB, replaced by Ulan Biibosunov;
- On February 14, a video appeared on Kyrgyz social media featuring images of businessmen, athletes, GKNB employees, and minor officials, whom the authors of the video labeled as the so-called "40 choro" of Jakypbekov.
On February 23, the special services denied the unofficial nicknames of GKNB employees and stated that the video was being circulated by "interested parties to form a false public opinion about the activities of the GKNB";
- On February 15, Jakypbekov was detained, which was confirmed on February 16 by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office;
- On February 16, the Pervomaisky District Court kept Jakypbekov in custody at the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department until April 15;
- On February 16, a video appeared on social media showing the detention of a certain GKNB employee nicknamed "Pito." Later, the Pervomaisky District Court confirmed the arrest of D.S.D., and he was sent to the pre-trial detention center until April 15;
- On February 17, the press service of the GKNB confirmed that there were no untouchables in state agencies and reported the dismissal of several State Committee employees suspected of exceeding their official powers;
- On February 19, the Pervomaisky District Court ordered the detention of the former head of the investigation department of the GKNB in the Chui region, B.B.I., and the former head of the 6th department of the GKNB in Bishkek, A.T.A.;
- On February 19, the Pervomaisky District Court sent the director of the Republican Sports College named after Sh.Sydykov, Aibek Tashmatov, to the pre-trial detention center until April 15.

Additionally, Tashmatov is associated with another video in which he honors the "thief in law" Kamchy Kolbaev, who was eliminated by the GKNB on October 4, 2023, in Bishkek [source];
- On February 21, the Pervomaisky District Court kept the former GKNB employee U.U.K., known by the nickname "Vazelin," in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department until April 15;
Before working at the GKNB, "Vazelin" served in the police.
- On February 27, the Pervomaisky District Court sent the former head of the Balakchy Department of Internal Affairs, Chyngyz Tökölöshev, to the pre-trial detention center until April 15.
On February 23, the editorial team of "Turmush" reported that by the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs leadership, Tökölöshev was relieved of his position as head of the Balakchy Department of Internal Affairs.

- On February 27, the GKNB reported that:
- 6 employees from the national security agencies were dismissed;
- 6 employees were removed from their positions and placed at the disposal of the GKNB;
- One candidate for service in the GKNB was excluded;
- Disciplinary actions were imposed on 8 GKNB employees.
- Among the former GKNB employees, "Pito," "Vazelin," as well as Tashmatov and Tökölöshev appear in the video about Jakypbekov's "40 choro."
- Currently, 7 people have been detained in the corruption case within the GKNB, of which 5 are former GKNB employees.
