The Global Atomic Quiz 2025 took place in Bishkek — an international event aimed at promoting nuclear technologies and engaging youth in science.

Participants included students from leading universities in Kyrgyzstan. The moderator was Sairagul Nasirdinova, a candidate of technical sciences and associate professor, who heads the Department of Thermal Energy at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Razakov.
According to Dmitry Konstantinov, the general director of the representative office of the State Corporation "Rosatom" in Kyrgyzstan, the quiz has been held in the country for the second time.
- This is an international educational project that unites more than 70 countries. Every year, over 40,000 people participate, mainly students and young professionals. The main goal of the quiz is to popularize science and high technologies, as well as to engage youth in these fields. It has already received several awards, including the "For Loyalty to Science" award at the IX All-Russian Prize in the "Science for the World" nomination, - noted Konstantinov.
Journalists asked about the choice of nuclear physics as a topic and the successes of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
- Nuclear physics is the foundation of atomic energy, and "Rosatom" holds leading positions in this field. We strive to promote scientific areas related to atomic energy. The interaction between our countries encompasses not only business but also scientific projects. In particular, work is being done between the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan and Russia to support the development of the scientific and educational potential of the country for the future growth of atomic energy. Neighboring countries like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have already started their projects in this area, and they began preparing specialists in advance. Therefore, the development of science and education is the foundation for the complex industry of atomic energy, - he added.

Additionally, Konstantinov mentioned a nuclear medicine project being implemented in Kyrgyzstan.

- We also pay attention to other areas, including medicine. In 2025, "Rosatom" opened a nuclear medicine department at the Oncology and Hematology Center of Kyrgyzstan, which has already served over 500 patients. This is the first and only such department in the country, allowing for diagnostics. We strive to implement technologies that benefit people, - he emphasized.

Konstantinov noted that winners of the quiz will receive commemorative prizes and gifts with the project's branding, and participation in the Global Atomic Quiz allows young people to showcase their knowledge, broaden their horizons, and become part of the international scientific community.

- We focus on students in technological fields such as thermal energy, physics, and applied sciences. These specializations will be relevant not only in the energy sector but also in related fields such as nuclear medicine. Projects like the Global Atomic Quiz shape future specialists who will be able to develop their country in the fields of science and high technologies, - he summarized.

Note: The Global Atomic Quiz is an international educational project that has been uniting participants from over 70 countries since 2020 and is conducted in 11 languages. Every year, more than 40,000 people participate in the quiz, aimed at popularizing scientific knowledge and nuclear technologies among youth.

The quiz was first held in Kyrgyzstan on November 15, 2024, gathering 40 students and schoolchildren.
