The registration for participation in the Diversity Visa lottery — DV-2027, which provides the opportunity to obtain a "green card," is currently closed. This is reported by the U.S. State Department.
The department also noted that false messages about the start of application acceptance and offers from various visa agencies claiming they can "increase your chances of winning" or guarantee successful application processing are appearing online.
The State Department emphasizes that such claims are false.
“We are aware of cases of fraud where individuals falsely claim that registration for DV-2027 has begun and assert that they can influence the results. This is absolutely untrue,” the official statement says.
Information about the dates for the opening of registration and possible changes in the application process will be published on the official website travel.state.gov. Applications can only be submitted through the official program portal — eDV. Using third-party resources or intermediaries may lead to the loss of personal data and financial resources.
The State Department also reminded that participation in the lottery is free, and submitting more than one application from one person will result in disqualification.
The Diversity Visa program provides an annual opportunity for citizens of participating countries, including Kyrgyzstan, to immigrate to the U.S. Last year, the application period began in the fall; however, this year the process has been delayed, with the reasons officially undisclosed.
