Today, an international congress titled "Central Asia: Common Spiritual and Educational Heritage — Common Future" was opened at the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

According to our correspondent from IA "24.kg", about 300 scholars, art historians, and representatives from the educational sector gathered for the forum organized at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In his welcoming address to the participants, the president emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the context of global conflicts and confrontations.

“We need to learn from the lessons of history and approach every matter based on knowledge and enlightenment, strengthening harmony among peoples and expanding inter-civilizational dialogue,” he noted.

The president also reported on large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in this area. In recent years, about 500 new schools have been built, and the number of higher education institutions has increased from 77 to 202. Additionally, there are presidential and creative schools in the country named after renowned scholars and thinkers.

“Issues of experience exchange and preservation of spiritual and educational heritage will remain at the center of our attention with foreign partners, and we will also determine priority areas for research and projects,” added Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

He also emphasized that the development of a special resolution by the UN General Assembly recognizing the contribution of the Islamic civilization of Central Asia to global enlightenment, science, and culture would be a significant step in this area.

“Next year, we plan to hold a separate event to present this resolution at the UN headquarters, dedicated to the rich scientific and spiritual heritage of our ancestors,” he announced.

According to the president, joint efforts will help strengthen the status of Central Asia as a center of science and enlightenment, and the government is ready to create all necessary conditions for this. “I am confident that this forum will become an effective platform for the development of our scientific and cultural life,” he added.

The congress will last several days and will bring together representatives of international organizations, diplomats, as well as scholars and artists from Central Asia and Azerbaijan.

The main goal of the event is to analyze the role of the spiritual and scientific heritage of the peoples of the region as the foundation of their unity and sustainable development. Attention is given to the contribution of all countries in preserving, studying, and popularizing the common cultural heritage, as well as implementing international initiatives in the fields of science, education, and intercultural dialogue.

Holding the congress at the Center for Islamic Civilization is particularly significant, as this unique complex embodies the centuries-old history of the region, the Renaissance era, and the modern development of New Uzbekistan. The center serves as a platform for studying civilizational heritage, educating youth, and strengthening international cultural cooperation.
