The Central Election Commission (CEC) reported that there are no restrictions on the number of participants, and the elections will be considered valid regardless of turnout.
As of 14:00, the chairman of the CEC of Kyrgyzstan, Tynchtyk Shainazarov, reported that 815,766 people had voted. For comparison, during the elections in 2021, the turnout at that time was 591,797 voters, which is equivalent to 16.35%. This year, that figure has increased to 19%, which is 300 thousand more voters.
Since the beginning of the election campaign, the operational group has received 220 complaints about violations.
Among them:
- 114 — regarding violations of campaigning rules;
- 37 — concerning defamatory information about candidates;
- 8 — abuse of administrative resources;
- 22 — possible vote buying;
- 39 — other violations.
During the day, 20 new complaints were registered, mainly regarding campaigning violations and possible technical failures, most of which, according to the CEC, have not been confirmed.
The commission noted that the increase in turnout is related to the simplification of the voting process. Citizens can vote anywhere, both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad, by providing one of three documents: a foreign passport, an ID card, or an electronic passport through the "Tunduk" application. After confirming their identity, the voter receives a ballot for their district.
Tynchtyk Shainazarov emphasized that the introduction of new technologies and organizational measures is aimed at facilitating citizens' ability to exercise their constitutional right to participate in elections.
