Camera traps have been installed in the Chychkan Gorge and at the Töö-Ashu Pass, reported eco-activist Akyl Gulzhigit uulu.

He noted that more than 20 camera traps have been placed both in the Chychkan Gorge, which is located in the Toktogul district of the Jalal-Abad region, and in the vicinity of the Töö-Ashu Pass in the Chuy region.

“These devices have been installed with the support of international organizations to monitor wildlife and combat poaching. Next spring, the camera traps will be retrieved, and the images of wild animals obtained will be used for scientific research. If any faces of individuals engaged in illegal hunting are captured in the photos, their images will be forwarded to law enforcement agencies for further investigation,” Akyl reported.

The Chychkan Gorge covers an area of 36,000 hectares and was established in 1973-1974. It is home to a variety of wild animal and bird species, as well as numerous types of flora.
