Due to the renovation of Aitmatov Avenue, some access points to residential buildings in Bishkek have been closed. This has complicated not only traffic for drivers but also access for emergency services, such as firefighters and ambulances, which can no longer reach many buildings.

Access Issues for Firefighters

Recently, firefighters were unable to reach one of the residential complexes at 299/7a Aitmatov Avenue, where a fire broke out on the first floor. The reason was the closed entrances to several secondary streets during the renovation of the avenue and limited access points.

Although there is a possibility to drive through Abdrakhmanov Street, it is also closed until the installation of "Safe City" cameras.

The Importance of Direct Access

Even though there is an option to approach the building from another side, time is crucial in emergencies, and direct access is necessary. Additionally, secondary roads are experiencing traffic jams and a large number of parked cars, which has led to constant complaints from residents.

“There are always traffic jams here: both day and night,” noted one local resident in a conversation with the editorial team.

Nearby is an ophthalmology center, which is also facing access issues due to the renovation.

According to paragraph 16 of Chapter 2 of the Fire Safety Rules of the Kyrgyz Republic, free access to buildings and fire water sources must be ensured, and the condition of the roads should not hinder the passage of specialized vehicles.
