There is an active discussion on social media regarding a video demonstrating the condition of the livestock market in Tokmok, Chui region.

The recording was made on December 21. The author noted that after the snow melted, the market area was covered in mud, which creates serious inconveniences for all participants in the trade.

“Look, it’s impossible to walk, there’s mud everywhere. People are suffering, it’s just terrible. Why is no one monitoring the market? About ten thousand heads of livestock come here every trading day. Imagine how much money is circulating here. And there’s not even a basic covering — not a single stone,” says the author.

Social media users are also expressing dissatisfaction and urging the authorities to pay attention to this problem.

Earlier, the presidential envoy in the Chui region, Azamat Osmonov, conducted an inspection at this livestock market and identified a number of violations. Following the visit, instructions were given to address the noted deficiencies.

Turmush previously reported that work on improving the livestock market area in Tokmok has begun.

The livestock market in Tokmok is one of the largest in northern Kyrgyzstan and a key place for livestock trading in the Chui region, where various animals, including cows, sheep, horses, and bulls, are sold.

According to local authorities, gravel is being spread over the market area, new surveillance cameras and lighting are being installed. These measures are aimed at enhancing safety and improving conditions for people and animals in areas of mass gathering.
