Jypар from Naryn: Married to a Korean and Two Weddings in Different Countries<{short}>Turmush — We present to you the story of 38-year-old Kyrgyz woman Jypар Asyранова, who lives in Incheon, South Korea.

She was born on November 30, 1987, in Naryn.

Jypар graduated from the Faculty of Finance and Credit at Bishkek State University. Five years ago, she moved to Korea after marrying a Korean man. She met her future husband, Kim Il-gon, while working as a guide. After some time of dating, they decided to legalize their relationship, first having a wedding in Kyrgyzstan and then in Korea according to the traditions of that country.

“My husband and I live separately from our parents. At first, I thought Korean food was too sweet or too spicy, but over time I got used to it,” Jypар shares.

Moreover, her desire to move to Korea was related to the search for new opportunities and experiences. She currently works as a translator in a middle school, translating from Korean to Russian.

Jypар noted some features of the Korean educational system: “Schools are divided into elementary, middle, and high schools, and teachers change jobs every five years, while homeroom teachers change every year. People here are hardworking and honest, although there are different types — both friendly and indifferent.”

The climate in Korea is characterized by high humidity and hot summers. It often rains in June, sometimes with strong winds. The country's economy is mainly based on technology, electronics, and exports.

Jypар was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and order in public places. “The metro and bus stops are always clean. I was also amazed at how accessible the internet is everywhere. Comparing Korea and Kyrgyzstan, I noticed significant differences in the economy, career opportunities, education, and the level of medicine. Prices here are certainly higher,” she added.

Due to her work schedule, she does not get to meet with other Kyrgyz people often.

One of her goals is to pass on the knowledge and experience gained in Korea to her homeland, including in the educational field.

Jypар is raising her eight-month-old son together with her husband. “Family is my main support and source of motivation,” she emphasizes.
