As part of the "Our People Abroad" series, we present Chyngyz Matsakov, a 25-year-old native of the village of Sakaldy, located in the Nooken district of the Jalal-Abad region. He currently resides in the Danish city of Varde.

Chyngyz received a translator's diploma from the Kyrgyz-Chinese faculty of one of the universities and is now studying in the 4th year of the animal husbandry faculty at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University.
“I came to Denmark under a special program for a year and a half to gain professional experience, but I have already spent more than two years here. After completing my internship, I found a job on a farm where I am involved in cattle breeding,” he noted.

According to him, the climate in Denmark is different from that of Kyrgyzstan: it is often windy and rainy here, but there is almost no cold or snow. “The economy of this country is developed, and many services are provided for free. But despite all this, I still consider Kyrgyzstan to be better. Denmark is smaller than our Naryn region, but it is a powerful country,” Chyngyz added.

He also noted that Denmark is among the five happiest countries in the world. “People here are very friendly, always greet each other, even if they are not acquainted. Despite their wealth, they remain simple,” the Kyrgyzstani shared his experience.

Chyngyz started working on the farm in March. “On my birthday, the owner of the farm raised the Danish flag in my honor. This is part of their tradition, and I was very pleased. People here really take pride in their country,” he noted.

His duties include inspecting cattle and cleaning the premises. The farm uses modern technologies, including robots for milking cows. “Previously, I interned at a farm where cows were milked by hand. This farm has 300 cows, including Fleckvieh, Holstein, and Montbéliarde breeds,” Chyngyz specified.

As he explained, all cows in Denmark are purebred. “If a cow does not produce at least 23 liters of milk, it is sent for slaughter. Each cow is assigned a chip that tracks how much it eats and drinks. In Kyrgyzstan, ordinary cows give only 5-6 liters of milk. But the situation is improving for us as well,” he added.

Chyngyz reported that he knows about a hundred Kyrgyz people living in Denmark. “We meet twice a year — in spring and autumn. Together we play football, swim in the pool, and cook national dishes. Many of my acquaintances stayed to work after their internships,” he said.

Currently, Matsakov is single, but he plans to get married this year. He has two older sisters and a younger brother. “I have many plans for the future, but the main thing is to remain a good person and contribute to society,” he concluded.
