According to their information, the accident happened on November 19 on a section of the Bishkek—Osh highway that passes through the village of Birlik.
At the moment when the service vehicle was turning around on the road (moving backward), a car brand "Mercedes-Benz" traveling at high speed was unable to brake in time and collided with it.
Video of the incident spread on social media and sparked active discussion among users.
According to the traffic safety department of the Jalal-Abad regional police, the accident has been documented.
The department noted that no one was injured in this traffic accident.
The traffic safety department added that road workers were installing special signs at the pedestrian crossing at the scene of the incident.
Later, the Jalal-Abad regional police confirmed that the vehicle involved in the accident belongs to the road workers.
“During the investigation of this incident, it was established that the pickup involved in the accident belongs to the district road maintenance department (DRE). On that day, the road workers were installing special models on the section of the road designated for the pedestrian crossing,” the department reported.
