He was born in 1987 and received his education at the Osh Technological University.
“My parents were involved in yak breeding, and this inspired me to continue their work,” he shared. “My father helped me master this profession, and now we have over 60 yaks,” added Mirislambek.
He also noted that yaks have many advantages compared to other types of livestock:
“Yaks do not require special home care. In summer and winter, they are in the mountains. Only during the three winter months do we take care of the newborn calves. Unlike other animals, yaks require less feed, and their milk, meat, kurut, and butter are very beneficial for health. We sell males in spring, and in autumn, we sell calves and females,” he explained.
Additionally, yaks can be trained for riding.
Yaks tolerate low temperatures (down to -60 degrees) very well and do not run away from the mountains. Their milk is of high quality, the animals themselves are intelligent, and their meat is quite nutritious. Strong lassos can be made from their wool. They do not like hot weather — they prefer coolness.
“In winter, yaks do not need care; they graze on their own,” Bedelov added.
In addition to yaks, he also raises horses, cows, and sheep, and his family runs a grocery store.
“I try to spend my free time with my family. In the future, I plan to increase the number of yaks and promote them abroad,” he shared his plans.
Mirislambek is married and has a daughter and a son.
