A Turmush correspondent spoke with the young athlete.
Islam was born on August 30, 2010, in Sokuluk.
“My mother is Mamutova Burul, and my father is Mamutov Chyngyz. There are four of us in the family: an older brother, me, and two younger siblings. I study in the 9th 'B' grade at the Chyngyz Aitmatov school in Shopokov. I have been practicing hand-to-hand combat for 7 years, and my dad introduced me to sports. After my first training session at a competition, I developed a strong desire to engage in sports, although before that I only went at his request. Sports have become a real motivation for me and inspire me to keep going,” shared Islam.
“I have many sports achievements. In total, I have won 10 gold medals for 1st place, 2 silver medals for 2nd place, and 2 bronze medals for 3rd place. I also have 2 belts and 14 certificates,” he added.
Islam also talked about his ambitions for the future: “I plan to enroll in the Suvorov Military School, and then I want to become an employee of the State Committee for National Security. In my free time, I run cross-country races, actively study, and train,” he noted.
